The procedure for adoption is as follows. All perspective adopters are required
to foster the pet for a term of not less than 3 weeks. During this time a
background and reference check will be preformed. A foster contract is filled
out with specific questions concerning the care the dog will be given during
these three weeks. At the end of the foster period, if all goes well and the
references check out, you will be ask to fill out the adoption contract. The
adoption contract is 15 pages and covers all aspects of the dogs care as long as
you own it. This contract also includes a spay / neuter clause. If the funds are
available all pets are spayed or neutered before adoption. If the dog is less
than 9 months of age or the funds are not available, you will be required to
have the pet altered at your own expense. All pets will be up to date on all
vaccination and are on heartworm prevention. All pets will have been declared
fit to be adopted by our vet and if necessary will be de-wormed. To help cover
the cost of veterinary care we require a minimum $100 donation at the time of
foster.
